The SWSC was founded in 2017 as The Star Wars Shadow Council, a Star Wars fan site focusing on theory and speculation. Since 2019, we have expanded to become a general-interest fandom and pop culture site, with an analytical focus and a sci-fi/fantasy bent.

Robotical712 is a 35-year-old father of two. He was a big fan of Star Wars in the late 90’s, but left the fandom in 2000 and rejoined when TFA came out. He got his start in the speculation community on Reddit, but his journey led him to meet many interesting and varied people who were crazy enough to found a blog with him. His favorite eras are the Rise of the Empire and Galactic Civil War.
Senior Staff Writer and Creative Editor
Sprinx became a Star Wars fan in her teenage years, after getting so grossed out by the tauntaun guts scene in The Empire Strikes Back when she was eight that she refused to watch the series for almost a decade. She is most interested in the myth and folklore roots of the series, particularly how it relates to other heroic narratives across history. On all levels except physical, she is Princess Leia.
Senior Staff Writer and Editor, Multimedia Content Creator
Just a planetary geologist moonlighting as a Star Wars nerd. Han loves all things Star Wars, with a few of his favorites being John Williams, Return of the Jedi (yaasss Ewoks), and Luke Skywalker. Han shot

Conn8d is a researcher and analyst who was more into John Williams Star Wars film scores than Star Wars itself until she was coaxed into seeing The Force Awakens. After that, she was hooked, got caught up in the galaxy far, far away and joined the fandom. Her first “Star” loves were actually of the “Trek” and “Gate” varieties. Conn8d has interests in both narrative structures and storytelling, but also in reporting on the economic and social scientific aspects of pop culture, media, and fandom. She serves as Senior Staff Writer and Web Analytics Lead on the Shadow Council.

A cynical millennial tolerated by these dweebs for some reason. Especially fond of Star Wars, knitting, meta-analysis, and her cats. Prone to lurking, emoji abuse, flare-ups of heart-on-sleeve enthusiasm, and earnest pedantry on esoteric topics of no import.
Senior Staff Writer, Lead Video Editor, and Media Editor
The Mandalorian Wolf is a New York City-based filmmaker and life long Star Wars fan. Seriously, he’s been a fan of this franchise since he was little enough to be considered youngling target practice for Anakin. From the wild west of Legends continuity to the new frontier of the Disney canon, TMW has followed both down into the rabbit hole and came out the other side with an inspiration to one day make a story as meaningful and impactful as Star Wars. The Mandalorian Wolf serves as a senior staff writer, writing up reviews for canon material, as well as meta and speculation articles. He’s also the lead video editor that creates tributes on the council’s youtube and handles creative direction of the channel as well.
Senior Staff Writer and Editor
Raven was introduced to Star Wars shortly before the release of The Force Awakens and instantly fell in love with the saga. When she isn’t keeping up with the Skywalkers, she can be found reading, writing, or daydreaming about creating her own galaxy far, far away.
Senior Staff Writer and Editor
When she isn’t working on real space ships HypersonicHarpist enjoys stories about fictional ones. She first became a Star Wars fan in 1995. She enjoyed the old Expanded Universe novels (now Legends) back in the day and is now really enjoying the new Canon.

Inspired by Rey’s scavenged rust-red ride, ReysSpeeder rides her bike around the city as much as Rey rides her one-of-a-kind speeder around the graveyard of Jakku. She’s a proper millenial-prequel fan who was never the same after Darth Maul’s second blade ignited in The Phantom Menace. When she’s not thinking about Star Wars, she likes animation, magical heroines, and collectibles. Off camera she is a PhD candidate in sociology specializing in stigma.
