I was looking at a certain in from The Last Jedi and there was something I noticed. Spoilers ahead.
YODA: Ah, Skywalker. Missed you, have I.
LUKE: So it is time for the Jedi Order to end.
YODA: Time it is–mm–for you to look past a pile of old books, hmm?
LUKE: The sacred Jedi texts!
YODA: Oh. Read them, have you?
LUKE: Well, I…
YODA: Page-turners they were not. Yes, yes, yes. Wisdom they held, but that library contained nothing that the girl Rey does not already possess. Skywalker, still looking to the horizon. Never here, now, hmm? The need in front of your nose.
This is just after Rey beats Luke and runs off to turn Kylo Ren. Now, the main subject of it is clearly Luke, who is stuck in the past and not noticing that what he needs is right there in front of him. However, this statement is also true about Rey:
Skywalker, still looking to the horizon. Never here, now, hmm? The need in front of your nose.
Rey is rushing off to save Kylo Ren’s soul to save the galaxy, but the soul she can and needs to help is Luke (who in turn can help her learn about herself). Yoda is referring to both Skywalkers. Very clever Mr. Johnson.
